Mrs. Murphy has been teaching at Aliso Niguel High School since 1999 and currently instructs Biotechnology and AP Environmental Science. With over two decades of teaching experience, she has played a pivotal role in shaping young minds.

Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Murphy had a diverse professional background. She worked as a veterinary technician, a biologist for the National Park Service, and served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Riverside, and her teaching credential from Chapman University.

Since 2006, Mrs. Murphy has been the dedicated advisor for DA. Her journey with DA began when former member and coach, Melissa Emnas, invited her to help transform the team into a competitive powerhouse. The rest is history! Under her guidance, DA has become a formidable presence in competition circuits. However, what matters most to Mrs. Murphy is the strong sense of community that has blossomed — the DA family.

This incredible DA family includes a dedicated booster club that ensures the team meets its funding goals while supporting the students and the program. It also boasts two remarkable and caring coaches, David Lim and Jazzy Orcaz, who are the backbone of the team’s success and ongoing inspiration.

Mrs. Murphy feels incredibly fortunate to be part of this family and has cherished every moment of her journey. She wouldn’t trade this experience for anything and hopes to continue being part of the DA family for many years to come!
